I often get asked by users that they are ready to setup their WordPress site, however they have no clue where to start when it comes to web hosting. Which hosting site to pick? Do I select managed or unmanaged hosting? What is the cost? How is customer support? What do you recommend? There are many different hosting sites that offer benefits depending on your needs, so for that reason I cannot recommend just one site. However, I can give you a well rounded review of hosting sites, based on my experience and the experiences of my clients over the years. Whether you are just starting out or need a site to handle multiple WordPress sites, there is a hosting platform for you.
WP Engine – The All Around Hosting Site
WP Engine is definitely the best of the best, well rounded WordPress hosting site out there. Besides having a site with a stellar customer service, they also offer a lot of neat features to make managing your WordPress site easy. The only downside is the price – it starts at $35 and gets expensive quick! If you managing several WordPress sites for yourself or clients or have high traffic to your site, this hosting platform would be the best way to go. Trust me, the price pays off in the log run.
1and1 – The Cheap Hosting Site
1and1 hosting is excellent if you are just starting out with a website. They offer hosting for $1 a month for the first year – the cheapest price of any hosting site! Bluehost – The Favorite of WordPress.org
Bluehost comes behind 1and1 on the pricing site for websites – they start at $3.95 per month. However, they offer a bit more features than 1and1 does. In addition to allowing a free domain and SSL certificate, they also offer a staging environment and excellent customer service. In fact, Bluehost hosting is so great that it is feature on WordPress.org as one of the top recommended hosting sites to use. They can’t get reccomended high enough.
SiteGround – The Site with the Best Customer Service
SiteGround is another hosting site that comes highly recommended by WordPress.org. Besides having all of the features that Bluehost has, SiteGround has a reputation of having the best customer service out there. Their prices are low too, starting at $3.95 a month. They also have an integrated Dev Tool kit for you developers who want to get into the backend of things.
